Im so happy to welcome our newest guest blogger Megan from The Little White Book. For those of you that haven't heard of The Little White Book you are in for a treat! Here, Megan explains why in her own words!! about the little white book: There’s so much to organise, and the little white book is designed to make that much easier – incorporating wedding planning as a seamless and simple part of day-to-day life. A compendium of everything you need to plan your wedding, a 12 month count-down diary with checklists at regular intervals, journal prompts, space to record appointments, and most importantly, room for your thoughts to record everything memorable about the process. why I created little white book: When my now-husband, Blair, asked me to marry him on 15 February 2015, I couldn’t wait to begin planning our wedding. Neither of us have parents, nor married siblings who could help, and I was the first of all my friends to get engaged. I had to get organised immediately, breaking down the process of wedding planning into small, manageable tasks. I also wanted to record the memories of what is such a special time, but I found that keeping a diary as well as writing in my wedding planner was such a hassle –there should be one place to both make plans and be a keepsake of memories of my engagement. I searched worldwide (and my Maid of Honour kindly scoured New York) for the perfect wedding planning organiser – to take with me to vendor appointments, dress fittings, and write down everything to remember. We couldn’t find anything so I continued writing in my everyday diary and my wedding planning book, and I started a blog - She Said Yes. I discovered that my writing was serving many different, but equally important, purposes. The first (and last) thing that a wedding journal does is act as a keepsake of memories. From the day I got engaged up to the big day itself, many things happened that I wanted to remember. Keeping a journal provided a great place for me to track everything that happened, recording memories that otherwise would have got lost in the midst of planning the actual wedding. I promise it will be an indispensible companion from “Yes” to “I do” - it is as functional as it is beautiful. megan xx ![]() After having the pleasure of working with this very talented lady on a number of occasions I thought it was about time that I asked her to guest blog for you guys.
Natalie Boland Make up Artist is a well established and creative consultant. I have personally worked with her on a fashion shoot for the cover of an international magazine and also on a number of bridal shoots, in which we had our images published. So, Its taken me a while to actually stop procrastinating and yes, start a wedding photography blog. To begin with I had the usual self doubts, why would anyone be interested in whats going on in my mad little world but then I realised, to me its everyday but to each of you, this blog is an insight into what really goes on in the mind of a wedding photographer who also happens to be a mum to 2 crazy little boys. So, let me start by telling you who I am. My name is Estelle, I live in Leicestershire and I have been in love with photography ever since I can rememeber ( hence the Name Love Photography 13 ) After studying for 3 years and building up a varied portfolio in 2015 I decided that now was the time to really give my Weddings 100% focus. The weddings I have shot in the previous 3 years had given me an insight into what really goes on in the crazy world of Weddings and I loved it! One thing that I noticed really quickly is how many Brides to be find it hard to let go of the reigns, to give the control to someone else on a day that is going to be the most amazing of thier lives! Being a bit of a control freak myself ( ok, maybe alot ) I totally understood this and knew that this is why I had felt so drawn to wedding photography. Not only can I share my photography skills with my clients but I can also relate to the brides who hate to not be in control. And with this a star was born! I knew that I could offer my clients something unique. The insight into a womans mind and the luxury wedding photography she craves. I know all the questions that the bride wants to ask but doesnt feel comfortable with asking, I know she secretly wants to ask what happens if it rains but doesnt want to tempt fate, I know she may have a question that pops into her head as shes going to bed ( this is why I offer continual skype support sessions free of charge in the run up to your wedding day ) and most of all I know she wants and deserves luxury wedding photography that captures her love story perfectly. By pre empting these things I have created the perfect signature package; for any bride looking for the most stunning wedding imagery one could want on a wedding day. By combining gorgeous wedding photography with the knowledge and passion to make your day as perfect as you do, you can rest assured that your photography will not be on your mind on your wedding day as I will have it all under control. My love of photography shines through not only in my images but in the way that I connect with clients. Last year, a client loved my style of photography so much they flew me out to Ibiza with them for thier wedding. Hows that for loving my work! But thats a whole other blog post! So, theres a little insight into Me and why Im doing what im doing right now. Im looking forward to sharing more of my adventures with you. Until next time....Toodle Pip! |
