Such a pleasure to have our images featured in the amazing Brides Magazine! This alternative shoot was the brainchild of Naomi Sparks Wisden owner of Lace & Pearl Bridal Boutique. After a discussion on upcoming themes Naomi expressed an interest in curating an alternative / Goth styled wedding and look at what we created!! We wanted the shoot to be alternative. Something a little different to your white wedding. Both our bride and groom have tattoos and piecing’s and so felt they are slightly alternative themselves. We wanted to show you can be a beautiful bride no matter what your theme! For the bouquet Pollen Floristry created used Calla lily, peony, celosia, carnation, rose, berries, twisted willow & various foliage’s. We went for a more purple and red colour scheme to add to the opulence and alternative look for the shoot. An autumnal modern textured bridal bouquet using a blend of bright pinks and reds instead of the usual orange autumnal colours real made the brides bouquet stand out. The dress was a traditional white princess dress with gold detailing but customized at the front to show the bold coloured petticoat. For the hair we wanted something simple and elegant and just secured a small section up to show off the custom made headpiece. The makeup was darker than a traditional natural wedding make up. Natalie Boland MUA created a Goth styled look by giving our bride winged eyeliner and dark lip colour. Ladywood Estate is a gorgeous venue nestled in the heart of Leicestershire. It boasts a boat yard and stunning grounds. They also have a gorgeous 400 seat orangery should the weather not have been kind to us! Again we went for an alternative look when it came to the styling. The cake was a black iced 4 tier decorated with red roses and skull motif created by The Rutland Cake Company. Not your regular white wedding cake. The favours were small coffins hand crafted to match the wedding cake. Home-made spooky skull cookies by Wookie Cookie finished off the alternative look.
