So lovely to have the fabulous Natalie Boland MUA as our guest blogger this week....talking to you gorgeous people about 2017 bridal make up trends. I shall let the lovely Natalie continue! As a bridal makeup artist keeping up to date with the latest beauty trends is part of my job to put a fresh modern twist on classic looks, however I prefer not to fully embrace trends but to use them in a more subtle way that won’t age in photos. One of the biggest trends for this year is monochromatic makeup done in a really fresh and ladylike way by using pinks not only on the lips and cheeks but also on the eyes and also a radiant complexion. I embraced this trend to create a pretty look on Alice, luckily Alice already looks after her skin but if you don’t have a skincare routine get one as soon as you can before your wedding. Having you skin in the best condition it can be will help your makeup artist on the big day create a more flawless finish. I suggest getting an everyday routine with a cleanser, toner, a face moisturiser and an under eye cream too, as the skin is thinner and shows again first. Then a weekly mask/exfoliator to exfoliate and add hydration. For her skin prep I used the Vitamin Enriched face base by Bobbi Brown (everyone loves this product when I use it on them as It smells like lemon!) and the hydrating eye cream. I let this soak into the skin whilst I then focus on the eyes, to prep Alice’s lids I used Urban Decay Primer Potion then dusted a layer of Strange from the Urban Decay from the crease of the eye to the brow bone, to make blending easier, for the lid I used Trick from the same palette on the lid then blended this out in the crease with Limit and then to add depth I used Nooner still in the crease but the outer third and dragged some more Nooner under the lash line. For the liner I used Inglot Gel Liner in shade 90 which is a gorgeous brown, which looks softer against the pink tones of this look and has amazing staying power, these liners do dry out but Inglot sell a product called Duraline that will revive gel/cream products. I then used a black waterproof mascara and applied Demi Wispies which are my go to lash for bridal looks.
I then used Charlotte Tilbury’s Wonder Glow to prime the face, Bobbi Browns Corrector under the eyes and RCMA foundation however another foundation that is easier to get your hands on that is another kit favourite is the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation to even out the skintone. I then Used Stila’s Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush in Water Blossom on the cheecks and Mac’s Minerlise Blush in Dainty on top. My two highlighters of choice for this look were Collections Speedy Highlighter first and then Becca’s Champagne Pop to add even more glow. To set the makeup I used RCMA No Colour Powder down the t zone and some Secret Brightening Powder under the eyes with Skindinavia’s Bridal Setting spray on top to seal everything in. On the Lips I used NYX Lip Liner Pencil in Rose to line and fill In the lips, I then used Bobbi Brown’s Lipstick in Pale Petal all over the lips then NYX Mega Shine Lip-gloss in Beige, which isn’t actually beige in colour it’s more pink. |
