It was such a pleasure to have met so many bride and grooms to be at The Belmont Hotel Wedding Fayre. January is always a busy time with so many love birds getting engaged over Christmas! Wedding fayres are an ideal way to check out lots of amazing wedding suppliers all under 1 roof! I couldn't write this blog post without giving a special shout out to my wedding fayre neighbor Emily from Baked by Emily Davis. This amazing lady kept me fed in cake for the whole day! Always a bonus to be neighbours with a cake supplier! Emily makes delicious cakes in all forms...whether your a death by chocolate kinda girl ( like me ) or a naked wedding cake fan she can create them all and I can vouch for the fact that they are all just as delicious as one another! Looking for a wedding cake be sure to check out her FB page BAKED by Emily Davis. So aswell as being fed by the lovely Emily I was then entertained by dance troupe SkyTribe. The gorgeous girls did 2 demos during the fayre. A burlesque performance and a belly dance! Utterly mesmerizing. Did you know you can book a dance class for your hen night? What a great idea to bring all your girlfriends together for a night filled with laughs guaranteed! Final shout out to the amazing Anita at Bespoke Avenue. Having already met Anita at a previous wedding fayre I already loved her work...My favorite has to be her message in a bottle...check out her website www.bespokeavenue.bigcartel.com For those of you looking for a wedding fayre to attend...why not come along and say Hi at the Bridefayre Wedding fayre at Mickleover Court on 18th March...you can get your tickets by clicking HERE 2017 has been an incredible year for Love Photography 13 Weddings. Don’t hold back when it comes to incorporating your desires into each and every part of your wedding – here are 6 ways to make both the ceremony and reception uniquely you. Choose a unique destination for the ceremony You don’t need to get married in a church anymore. In fact, you can have your ceremony practically anywhere – from a beach abroad to a local castle, don’t hold back. If your dream wedding seems out of your reach, you’d be surprised. People even manage to get wed in McDonald’s! The sky truly is your limit. Consider heading abroad for a dream wedding. It might sound expensive but it’s possible on a budget – from chateaus in France to a Fiji beach, the world is your oyster. Depending on how you envision your day, do your research into the destinations that can accommodate you and your chosen guests for the wedding of a lifetime. Incorporate a theme into your big day Why not apply a theme to your wedding? It will allow you to play with everything from your dress to the theming of your reception in the evening – consider colours and other details to make the theme consistent throughout every aspect of your big day. Some of the most common themes are vintage and fairytale-style weddings, so you’ll be able to look at similar ideas and play off certain suggestions to fully realise your dream day. Be sure to incorporate your theme into every part of the planning to make it prominent and impress your guests. Think about transport from the ceremony to the reception Although you can shake up tradition however you wish, it’s common to ensure that the bride and groom, best man, the maid of honour, bridesmaids and the mother and father of the bride are all transported from the ceremony to the reception. Whether it’s in cars or something more extravagant, it’s your choice just how much of a statement you want to make. Modes of transport such as a horse and carriage are more than impressive, giving you that fairytale aspect of your wedding you’ve dreamed of since you were little. Or, if you really want to go the extra mile, why not helicopter your way to your evening ceremony? Shake things up in the evening The reception is where you’ll have the most room to experiment and shake things up. From the food to the theming, there’s so much to consider in making it uniquely you – why not ditch the traditional three-course meal in favour of an extravagant spread and let your guests help themselves? For a fun, stress-free evening, this could be the best option. And why not splash out on a live band to get your guests dancing through the night? A DJ is fun enough, but the energy and spontaneity of a live band will prove to be a sheer spectacle in the midst of such a wonderful event. For that extra burst of fun, live music is the perfect choice. Consider an alternative for your wedding cake The wedding cake is arguably the centre of attention at the reception – apart from you, of course – as it’s such a pivotal and necessary part of the big day. So it makes sense for you to make it more your own, and with bakers and chefs conjuring up things from the quirky upside-down cake to a literal cheese cake, there’s plenty of room to play around here. Depending on the time of year, there are certain options that are perfectly suited to the weather. An ice cream station is a way of incorporating unadulterated fun into your reception, with guests able to create their own cone and cool off in the midst of a hot summer evening. Entertain your guests Be sure to keep your guests entertained and having fun throughout the day. Consider having some performers or entertainers at your reception – from magicians for the little ones to a surprise choreographed first dance, there are many ways to have your friends and family enthralled at just how incredible your wedding has been. From the moment that I captured the engagement pictures of Toni and Kirsty, I couldn't wait to be a part of their day! Bridal prep was such a giggle! The gorgeous brides to be were wed at the stunning Leicester King Power stadium in a small and intimate ceremony surrounding by friends and family. Both brides looked amazing in their intricate gowns! The bridal parties then had the opportunity to take it on to the pitch! Once the formalities were out the way the party really got started! The room looked amazing, Calebs speech was awesome and the guests had a great time! Formalities out the way...the girls took to the dance floor! Why not book your FREE wedding photography consultation and ask us how we can create your perfect package? What an amazing day it was capturing the gorgeous wedding of Aron and Kim. Guest enjoyed an intimate and loving ceremony at Glenfield registry office in Leicestershire. Whilst the rain held off we headed outside to the pretty surroundings for family photographs! The new Mr & Mrs Mortimer then followed their guests to Beadles Golf Club in East Goscote. Unfortunately we couldn't hold the rain off any longer...this didn't stop us capturing this gorgeous shot! The happy couple then rejoined their friends and family to party away the night! If you would like to know more about our wedding photography packages please get in touch for a FREE consultation! What an absolute pleasure it was to capture Steph and Petes intimate wedding last weekend in Ratby. Steph made the short journey from her friends house over to the church looking stunning! Pete looked extremely handsome and without nerves as he eagerly awaited her arrival in what was a personal and intimate ceremony surrounded by close friends and family! I have to admit that it was a wonderful surprise to hear what a personalised and funny ceremony they had decided upon. The vicar was lovely and even gave them a special gift mid ceremony...it was a clean slate...in which they both had to help to tie a string to symbolizing the tying of the know tradition! After the ceremony guests gathered outside for the traditional confetti throwing and then went on to the garden party! And what a gorgeous day it was for it too! Congrats to the beautiful Steph and Pete...Love Photography 13 Weddings wishes you lots of love and luck in your future together! It was such a pleasure to meet the lovely Jo from Sweet cake suppliers. Below Jo tells you all a little about why she does what she does! Tell us a little about your business. What is it that you supply? My business is everything ‘sweet’! I make wedding cakes, edible favours and especially love creating dessert tables. I also have a wooden cart which I hire out for anything from sweets to Krispy Kreme donuts. Tell us a little about why you created your business. I have been a pastry chef since I was 19 but after 8 years being the pastry chef in a premier stately home wedding venue, I was a little disillusioned with watching sometimes beautifully decorated cakes which were dry or even raw in the middle to not very well decorated but tasted amazing! Why couldn't they be both but not cost the earth? So I handed in my notice and jumped in with both feet! What makes your business unique? Exactly that, above. I care, perhaps too much sometimes but I want to get it right, so people come back for more. Cake makes people happy, especially if it's great cake! What were you most popular services / products in 2016? I've only been trading since November 2016 but had lots of interest in my sweet cart What do you predict will be popular in 2017? I'm really hoping that semi naked drippy cakes, elegant yet simple, are here to stay especially if a macaron or two is involved – baking magic! Why should our brides book you? Because no one is going to care about your cake as much as I will. It will look and taste great and you know it’ll be made by me and not by a big brigade of staff.
